"A Month in the Philippines: The Journey Begins!"

Hey everyone! So, guess what? I’m about to spend almost an entire month in the Philippines! Crazy, right? This whole journey started way before I even stepped on the plane there was packing, paperwork, and, of course, a whole lot of excitement (and maybe a little bit of stress too). Before we dive into all the adventures waiting for me, let’s talk about Me and the Program first!

About Me

Hi! My name is Bagas Nurdiyanto, but most people just call me Bagas. I’m 20 years old, and on April 13th, I’ll be celebrating my 21st birthday! Currently, I’m in my third year of college at Universitas Islam Darul Ulum Lamongan (UNISDA), majoring in English Language Education. I live in Babat, which is about 30 minutes away from my campus.

As a future educator, I’ve always been eager to gain new perspectives on teaching and learning. That’s why I’m beyond excited to be part of an international teaching experience that will push me beyond my comfort zone and allow me to grow both personally and professionally.

About the SEA Teacher Program

This journey is part of the SEA Teacher Program, an incredible opportunity for pre-service teachers like me to gain international teaching experience. The SEA Teacher (Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia) Program allows education students to immerse themselves in a different country, learn about their education system, and develop their teaching skills while embracing a new culture. Over the next month, I’ll be sharing my experiences, lessons learned, and unforgettable moments from this program.

Our journey has just begun! Don't forget to read the next part of my story in the Philippines from teaching experiences and cultural surprises to unforgettable moments during the SEA Teacher Program. Stay tuned for more adventures!
